Summary:

Wallpaper photograph of a garden buddha statue showing signs of breaking down, with small chips and cracks exposing the grainy man made surface beneath the stained paint, giving a closeup of the buddha's face and detail.

Yesterday I spent most of the day in the garden, preparing and planting some seasonal vegetables and fruits that will grow over the next 3 to 6 months. Spring is one of my favorite times of the year to be in the garden, it’s when life begins to push itself out of the dormant trees, vines, and plants, they start reaching for the blue sky and warm sun, ready to grow and transform our garden into a beautiful lush paradise.

As I was cleaning up and planting I took notice of our garden buddha statues, we have four of them scattered throughout the garden. Most we’ve had for several years and have held up well to the seasonal elements. One of them is showing signs of breaking down, with small chips and cracks exposing the grainy man-made surface beneath the stained paint. So this morning I decided to snap off a few photos in the garden and this one in particular turned out to be beautiful, giving a closeup of the buddha’s face and detail.

After doing some color adjustments in Lightroom I decided to make two versions, one in the vibrant golden color of the statue and second more traditional black and white version. When I look at these I can feel myself slowing down and transporting my mind to a state of calm peacefulness, reflecting on the day and being grateful for life. I’ve made them available in all the usual sizes, desktop, iPad, iPhone, and Facebook cover. I hope you enjoy them.
