Hauli Summer Sunset
Last weekend was the annual Golf & Games Weekend at Hauli Huvila. Usually one of the more mellow event weekends and this year had a very small group. The Kings river was flowing high enough to jump in and go floating. It was really nice.
April Drops
Last night we received little overnight rain storm for April 1st. It’s nice since we’ve had a record dry Winter season and Spring has been fairly dry too. Hopefully we’ll get a few more rain showers to water our lands, as the saying goes April Showers Bring May Flowers.
Bryce and Zion Nature
Here’s the seventh post in a series from the road trip to Bryce Canyon that took place over the weekend of July 13th and 14th, where I attended the Bryce Canyon Half Marathon race. This post shows off a few of the beautiful details that nature provides, the previous posts covered Bryce Canyon Up Close, Bryce Canyon Vistas, Heavens of Zion, Bryce Birds, Bryce Sky, and Bryce Wood. I think this will be the last post from the Bryce Canyon trip.
Bryce Wood
Here’s the sixth post in a series from the road trip to Bryce Canyon that took place over the weekend of July 13th and 14th, where I attended the Bryce Canyon Half Marathon race. This post is of the natural beauty of the tree trunks and wood seen at Bryce Canyon, the previous posts covered Bryce Canyon Up Close, Bryce Canyon Vistas, Heavens of Zion, Bryce Birds, and Bryce Sky. I’ll be making at least one more featuring a wild weed flower with a bee.
Spring Afternoon
Spring is here and the garden is springing with life! New leafs and flowers are popping up from their dormant winter sleep. Here are a few shots I took in the afternoon sunlight of some of the succulents in our garden. Use them as wallpapers for your desktop, iPad, iPhone, or Facebook cover.
Jäger The Cat
A few weeks ago Jäger The Cat and I were enjoying some nice warm SoCal winter weather in the garden. While he is an indoor cat, we do let him go into our back yard on a harness and leash.
Leaves ‘n’ Trunk
Currently in Southern California we are getting a typical stretch of nice warm weather in the heart of Winter. This week the days have been getting into the 70’s and 80’s outside. The warm weather always gets me into our yard to see what needs to be done.
November Rain
It’s been a while since my last wallpaper post. I’ve been distracted with a few things in life. Today we got a nice rainy day. I’ve missed the rain and welcome the Fall and Winter weather this season. Today reminds me of my time living in Seattle. We’d get nice rainy days like this for weeks at a time, which would drive some people nuts, but I always embraced the weather and appreciated it for what it was.
Blue Moon
Last night was the so-called blue moon, technically it is no different from every other full moon we experience other than getting a full moon twice in one month. August 2012 happen to be that month, we had a full moon on the first of August and now another full moon on the last day of August.
Angeles Sunset
I took these Angeles sunset photos last July during Jussi’s Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run. We were heading home on the Angeles Crest Highway while Jussi still had about 50 miles to run through the night before finishing his 100 mile race the following morning.
