On January 7th Jenny, her mom May, and I went to the Hsi Lai Temple. It was the 16th day of the Chinese new year in the year of the Dragon. They had special new year decorations all around the temple. We enjoyed the vegan buddhist lunch and prayed in the temple and threw some wish ribbons on the wish tree.

Succulents are great plants that work well in desert climate, and the best thing is they provide an extremely rich variety of textures, patterns, and colors. Their blossoms are often beautiful and vibrant when blooming, yet when they dry up they still develop a new type of beauty to enjoy.

Shortly after Jenny and I moved into our first home, Ryan had talked Jenny into coming home with a bearded dragon from the pet store. The bearded dragons are a mellow breed of lizards that originates from the Australian deserts, officially known as Pogona lizards. We named him Looby, after our good friend Brian Looby. They are fantastic pets, very docile and family friendly.

No doubt that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a massive game of epic proportions and it can be a very daunting task to locate and experience every location the game has to offer. A good map is helpful unless you leave yourself to explore for hours on end, which isn’t a bad thing if you have the time.

Our good friends Neil and Diana Evans introduced us to Cass Wines a few years back. On our first visit we were impressed with their wines, I think we brought home 6 bottles, maybe more. However, it wasn’t until the days and weeks after our visit when we started to open up the wines at home, we started to realized how amazing their wines really are.

While I’m nowhere near being ready to write-up my full thoughts on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, I’d like to share my enthusiasm for it. I suspect it’ll be a few months before I’m able to complete this incredibly massive game. However, I do want to share how thoroughly impressed I am after playing it for the first few weeks.

Last week while out shopping Jenny found some of the official Google Android Bots, mini collectables that come in various design styles. They seem to be a bit rare and hard to come by so I was pretty stoked when she surprised me.  I caught a few shots of them playing in our backyard, here are six shots that turned out pretty nice and can be used for desktops.

Over the last year or so I’ve been introduced to many great wines, wineries, and wine makers through wine.woot. Medlock Ames is one of them and I’m very happy to learn about them and their amazing wines. While we have yet to visit their winery and tasting room, we have enjoyed their wines throughout this year.

After posting the Cambria Cliff Rock desktop, I thought I’d share a few more of the desktop quality photos from that trip. These two desktops, titled Sculpterra Eagles and Sculpterra Fishtail, are from Sculpterra Winery, a winery on the east side of Paso Robles.  They have a beautiful sculpture garden surrounding the wine tasting room.

After posting the Cambria Cliff Rock desktop, I thought I’d share a few more of the desktop quality photos from that trip. These two desktops, titled Whalebone Blossom and Whalebone Barrel, are from Whalebone Vineyards, a small winery on the west side of Paso Robles. A beautiful drive on Vineyard Drive off HWY 46 going north.  They have a great wine tasting room up on a small hill overlooking the vineyard valley.
