My dailymile 2011 Summary
I was introduced to dailymile by my wife Jenny, she had used it for about year to track her running. I started using it and tracking my miles back in December of 2010. At first I was using it to track my mountain biking miles.
Top 10 Games of 2011
After writing up my Top 10 Music Albums of 2011, I thought it might be a good idea to share My Top 10 Games of 2011. I play a lot of games, constantly. They are so immersive, engaging, and damn addictive. In today’s age of technology game development teams have moved into the realm of great stories, visuals, sound design, and gameplay that creates for amazing experiences and entertainment.
Top 10 Music Albums of 2011
It was a mildly decent year for new music, while a few albums stood out for me, it seemed like there were fewer albums that really amazed me. The electronica and hard rock/metal genres were lacking this year with only a few exceptions.
Thanksgiving with My Brothers
This year for Thanksgiving we broke away from our normal ritual of going to my aunt Maika’s house for family Thanksgiving dinner. Instead we decided, for the first time, to get together with the other side of my family, my brothers.
Los Angeles Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon 2011
The day before Halloween on 2011, Los Angeles hosted the annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon. My wife Jenny signed me up for the Mini Marathon, 5 kilometers, while she signed up for the half, 13.1 miles. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series draws in a big crowd, often 20,000 to 30,000 runners. It can be very exciting to be surrounded by that many excited runners at the crack of dawn getting ready to run.
R.E.M. Calls It A Day
On September 21st 2011, R.E.M. announced that it has decided to call it a day as a band. They have disbanded. I saw this posted on Facebook and immediately I was bummed. I always felt like I was late in learning about the band and getting into their music. Many people have a strong connection to their early albums when they started out as a young college band.
