My dailymile 2012 Summary
It’s that time again, the new year is here and time to reflect on how we did with our fitness and health in 2012, and we want to happen in 2013. Here is my dailymile 2012 summary. The annual summary that shows off your logged miles and activity for the year. In looking back at my dailymile 2011 summary from last year, there is a pretty big difference.
Leona Valley Trail Half Marathon
Yesterday, on September 29th of 2012, Jenny and I ran the Leona Valley Trail Races half marathon event that takes place in Lake Hughes within the Antelope Valley.
Turning 42
This week on September 20th of 2012, I turned 42 years old. As my brother Antero the astrologer says, I’ve completed another lap around the Sun. Like a spec of dust in our infinite universe, I am simply a passenger along for the ride of this thing called life, a life that continues to move forward with or without us.
Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run
The annual Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run occurred this past weekend on July 21st and 22nd. A grueling 100 mile endurance run that takes place on parts of the Pacific Crest Trail through the Angeles National Forest located in the San Gabriel Mountains north of Los Angeles in Southern California.
The Great Wall of China Marathon
The past several weeks in our home have been focused on The Great Wall of China Marathon. Recently Jenny and her running friend Katie partnered up with creators of The Great Wall of China Marathon event to build a new Website to help promote the event and bring in more customers for an incredible annual journey.
Pasadena Marathon Bike Tour
I’m a little late in getting this up but it’s been a busy few weeks working on projects and traveling for the Memorial holiday, plus it took a while to get my video completed. Anyway on May 20th we attended the 2012 Pasadena Marathon, sponsored by Kaiser Permanente.
Wild Wild West
Earlier this month we participated in the 34th Annual Wild Wild West Marathon that took place in the foothills of Mt. Whitney near Lone Pine, California. A trail race event that has four different run distances; a 5k, 10 mile, full marathon at 26.2, and a 50k marathon, for full details read my Wild Wild West Marathon event report. After going through the all the photos I found a handful that turned out really nice as wallpapers, they showcase a little bit of the beauty of the mountains and nature of the local area.
Wild Wild West Marathon
This weekend we attended the 34th Annual Wild Wild West Marathon that took place in the foothills of Mt. Whitney in Lone Pine, California. A trail race event that has four different run distances; a 5k, 10 mile, full marathon at 26.2, and a 50k marathon. A challenging trail course with some good elevation going from around 5,100 feet at the start, to 6,500 feet on the second peak, all the way down to 3,700 foot elevation to the finish line.
Weekend Running
This past weekend we attended two running race events, back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday. At first I wasn’t sure if I could handle two races in a row, but now that I’ve completed both I can say that I’m glad we did it, we had a lot of fun. Even though I’m sore this morning it was a good challenge to push my body further into better shape and it made for a great experience.
34th Annual Firecracker Run
Today on February 12th 2012, I participated and completed my 8th 5k event run in the 34th Annual Firecracker 5k/10k Run, located in our very own Chinatown in the City of Angels (as I like to call Los Angeles). It was a great run and we had a lot of fun. They also have a 30 mile and 20 mile bike ride on Saturday (day before the run) that I was going to sign up for but it was sold out. I’ll definitely participate in it next year as I’m looking for more bike events, especially any mountain biking events.
