Summary:

Continuing into the third week, the Restore phase of Beachbody’s Ultimate Reset, a 21-day body cleanse program designed to help filter out your body to remove toxins and bad elements to reset it back to a healthier state.

Beachbody's Ultimate Reset: Week 3 RestoreThis part 3 continuation of my journal on Beachbody’s Ultimate Reset. You can read my Week 1: Reclaim journal and Week 2: Release journal.  This is a 21-day body cleanse program broken into three one week phases; Reclaim, Release, and Restore. The benefit of doing this program include removal of toxins from our body, weight loss, increased energy, lowering the bad cholesterol, boost mood and mental clarity and improve regularity. Basically filtering out your body to remove toxins and bad elements to reset it back to a healthier state.

Ultimate Reset – Week 3: Restore

The third phase, Restore, shifts things even more by optionally eliminating grains from the menu and going for a all fruit and vegetable cleansing meals. Gone is the Detox supplement from phase 2, but a new supplement called Revitalize is taken three times a day in addition to the same Optimize and Alkalinize supplements from last two weeks. Revitalize helps beneficial flora in the digestive track.

Ultimate Reset Week 3: Restore

Day 15

Weight: 199 pounds (12 pounds lost)

Restless night of sleep last night. Probably because of the long day yesterday and not getting into sleep until around 1:00 am. Got up around 7:00 am and went the restroom, did have bowel movement this morning, and then I weighed myself afterwards. Still at 199 pounds. Did my five Tibetan Rites exercises and jumped on the computer to wrap up and post my Phase 2 journal.

Meals

Breakfast

Day 15 Ultimate Reset Breakfast

Fresh fruit plate consisting of mexican papaya, mango, banana, apple, rasberries and blackberries. Yum!

Lunch

Day 15 Ultimate Reset LunchThe menu called for an asian slaw salad, however I didn’t have any cabbage so instead I made a spicy Thai style salad toss in a ginger coconut vinaigrette.

Snack

Was a little hungry between breakfast and lunch so I had a spoonful of natural peanut butter.

Dinner

day-15-dinner

Baked sweet potato with a little olive oil, pink himalayan salt and fresh cracked pepper served with some left over steamed broccoli and yellow squash with garlic. Baked sweet potatoes are good!

Water

11 glasses of water. (132 ounces)

Day 15 Summary

Another busy day, this whole week is going to be nonstop. Still feeling good with solid energy throughout the day. I stayed up late again, playing a little bit of Grand Theft Auto V after working on my project all day, but I did manage to go out for a brisk moonlit half mile walk before heading to bed after midnight.

Day 16

Weight: 197 pounds (14 pounds lost)

A little bit of a restless night of sleep, I think I woke up twice. However since I didn’t fall asleep until 1:00 am I did manage to sleep in this morning and not get up until 8:30 am. Even Jäger the Cat climbed up on top of me earlier in the morning, but I was able to fall back a sleep to get better rested. After getting up and going to the bathroom I weighed myself and was happy to see 2 more pounds gone! Now at 197 pounds for a total of 14 pounds lost. Afterwards I did my five Tibetan Rites and headed down to drink some water and take the morning supplements.

Meals

Breakfast

day-16-breakfastA fresh fruit plate consisting of mexican papaya, organic peach, and an asian pear. I’m all out of berries and other fruits. Gotta head to the grocery store today to stock up on fresh fruit and produce to wrap up the program.

Lunch

Day 16 Ultimate Reset Lunch

Same lunch as the last few days, spicy Thai style salad of raw veggies including raw slices of jalapeños tossed in a fresh made ginger coconut based vinaigrette. This is my new favorite salad combination, so yummy!

Snack

Snacked on some trail mix nuts and dried fruit.

Dinner

Day 16 Ultimate Reset Dinner

Great dinner tonight, roasted curry cauliflower with lime peppered kale and a side of brown rice. For the curry, I cut up the cauliflower and put them in a large bowl, then in a small pan heated up about 1 tbsp of olive oil with some curry powder, cayenne pepper, turmeric, and one clove of minced garlic. Once the oil and spices were heated up an aromatic, then poured it all over the cauliflower and tossed it around so everything was coated with the curry. Then roasted it in the oven for about 35 minutes. Really a good combination with the lime pepper kale.

Water

13 glasses of water. (160 ounces)

Day 16 Summary

I felt really good all day and into the night with great energy and mental focus as I was getting a lot of work done. My evening walk was beautifully highlighted by a very bright moon in the night sky. Finally went to bed around 12:30 am.

Day 17

Weight: 197 pounds (14 pounds lost)

Woke up at 6:30 am this morning, its all foggy outside which is nice as it helps keep the day cooler. Got up to use to the restroom, had a bowel movement, which seems to be back on my normal schedule. There were a few days over the last two phases where I didn’t go in the morning or at all for those days. Anyway, my weight stayed the same from yesterday, 197 pounds, still under 200 which is great! Did my five Tibetan Rites exercises and headed downstairs to drink some water, take the morning supplements, and begin preparing my fruit plate for breakfast.

Meals

Breakfast

Day 17 Ultimate Reset Breakfast

It’s fruit again, for the rest of the program. I don’t mind as I’ve always loved fresh fruit. Today we’ve got cantaloupe, kiwi, banana, grapes, strawberries, and raspberries.

Lunch

Day 17 Ultimate Reset Lunch

A Moroccan carrot salad for lunch today. This turned out quite delicious filled with spices, textures, and crunch. It’s a combination of shredded carrots, cilantro, minced garlic and spices, but I made it my own style by adding some celery, bell pepper, a little jalapeño, dried cranberries, and raw pistachio nuts for more crunch and texture. All toss in a Moroccan spiced vinaigrette of cumin, paprika, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, lime juice, apple cider vinegar and olive oil. The cinnamon threw me off, but it actually works well and come through nicely with the other flavors. Mixed it all together and let it marinate for a little while. Then served over a big bed of salad greens.

Snack

Snacked on some trail mix of nuts and dried cranberries, plus a spoon full of peanut butter.

Dinner

Day 17 Ultimate Reset Dinner

Menu called for roasted squash and lemon pepper green beans. I still had left over squash and curried cauliflower from earlier in the week so I decided to have them along with some freshly prepared lemon pepper green beans.

Water

14 glasses of water. (172 ounces)

Day 17 Summary

Felt really good all day today. I got really energized after lunch, that carrot salad was so delicious that it kept me going the rest of the day and into the night. The nights are starting to cool down now, I had to put on a long sleeve for my evening half mile walk. It’s good, you can feel that fall is in the air and winter will be here soon. Hopefully we’ll get a good snow dump this season!

Day 18

Weight: 196 pounds (15 pounds lost)

Woke up around 7:00 am. I had a good deep sleep last night, I was pretty tired from staying up late and working. Got up to the restroom, no bowel movement today. Next I jumped onto the scale and was happy to see another pound gone, now down to 196 for a total of 15 pounds lost on the program. Good stuff! After wards I did my five Tibetan Rites exercises and headed downstairs to take the morning supplements and begin to prepare my fruit plate for breakfast.

Meals

Breakfast

Day 18 Ultimate Reset Breakfast

Big plate full of fresh fruit. Cantaloupe, nectarine, apple, strawberries, grapes, and raspberries topped off with some fresh mint from the garden. The mint gives it a nice refreshing flavor and definitely improves the senses and alertness.

Lunch

Day 18 Ultimate Reset Lunch

Back to the spicy Thai style salad of raw veggies including raw slices of jalapeños tossed in a fresh made ginger coconut based vinaigrette. So yummy!

Snack

Snacked on some trail mix of nuts and dried cranberries, plus a spoon full of peanut butter.

Dinner

Day 18 Ultimate Reset DinnerRoasted fennel with lemon pepper broccoli and asparagus. For the fennel I tossed it in a little bit of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper, then roasted it for about 35 minutes. First time I’ve prepared it like this and I was surprised how flavorful it was, the usual bite you get from fennel was gone after roasting it. This is a new way for me to prepare fennel, I usually use it only for salads, but I enjoyed it roasted a lot.

Water

14 glasses of water. (172 ounces)

Day 18 Summary

Another long day wrapping up a project. Overall I felt pretty good with steady flow of energy and focus all day and into the night. One thing I really noticed this week is the amount of times I’m going to the bathroom, it seems like for almost every glass of water I drink I’m pissing it out just as quick. Maybe the supplements are impacting that or maybe I’m drinking too much water.  Anyway, went off for my evening walk before heading to bed. Only three more days left!

Day 19

Weight: 196 pounds (15 pounds lost)

Woke up around 7:20 am. Got up and went right to work to wrap up my project deadline. Didn’t bother doing the five Tibetan Rites. I did however use the restroom and weigh myself, same as yesterday at 196 pounds.

Meals

Breakfast

Day 19 Ultimate Reset BreakfastBig plate of fresh fruit consisting of cantaloupe, kiwi, banana, apple, grapes, strawberries, and raspberries topped with fresh mint and roasted seeds, yum!

Lunch

Day 19 Ultimate Reset LunchA hearty bowl of miso soup loaded with fresh veggies and tofu with Japanese cucumber salad on the side.

Snack

Snacked on some walnuts.

Dinner

Day 19 Ultimate Reset DinnerTonights dinner menu called for roasted beets, baked tempeh and some coconut greens, I used purple kale. All of it turned out very delicious and filling.

Water

14 glasses of water. (172 ounces)

Day 19 Summary

Another very busy day and limited Ultimate Reset report. However today’s lunch and dinner were really good. I did stop to watch Breaking Bad and then afterwards I went for my evening half mile walk before heading to bed.

Day 20

Weight: 196 pounds (15 pounds lost)

I’ll be brief. Got up, used the restroom, weight stayed the same, still 196. Did my five Tibetan Rites exercises and went to work on my project.

Meals

Snack

No snack today.

Dinner

Day 20 Ultimate Reset DinnerSince I had so much left overs I decided not to let them go to waste and had enjoyed them for dinner.

Water

12 glasses of water. (144 ounces)

Day 20 Summary

A long day, I was up past 2:00 am wrapping up my project and preparing for my trip to China. The meals kept me going throughout the day and into the late night with good energy and focus. Even though I was tired I forced myself to go out for the brisk walk before heading to sleep, I’m glad I did, it felt good. Only one more day to go!

Day 21

Weight: 196 pounds (15 pounds lost)

Last day! No more weight loss which is a bummer, I was really hoping that I would hit 190 pounds, but it looks like I gotta keep working at it. At least 15 pounds in 21 days is huge and I’m very happy about that.  After getting up I did the five Tibetan Rites exercises, then headed down stairs to take the morning supplements and begin preparing breakfast.

Meals

Breakfast

Day 21 Ultimate Reset BreakfastBig plate of fresh fruit, finished off all the fruit in the house and topped it off with some roasted seeds and fresh mint from the garden. So yummy!

Lunch

Day 21 Ultimate Reset LunchThe menu called for a Japanese style seaweed and carrot dish, but I was craving some spice so I decided to make that Moroccan carrot salad again. It was very filling and scrumptious!

Snack

No snacks today.

Dinner

Day 21 Ultimate Reset DinenrThe last dinner on the program. They have this fantastic cold soup made of avocados and cucumbers spiced with some jalapeño and cilantro. Super simple to make, just toss all those items in the blender with some salt, pepper, and Bragg’s Liquid Amino’s with water and let it blend all up.  I wish this was on the menu earlier, it is so good and refreshing!

Then I still had left over Moroccan carrot salad from lunch so I’m finishing that off with the soup.  All raw dinner.

Water

Day 21 Alkalinize14 glasses of water. (148 ounces)

Last day of the supplements. Been taking the Alkalinize packet every afternoon for the last 21 days. Like drinking fresh grass!

Ultimate Reset – Week 3: Restore Wrap-Up

Before and After PhotoWell that’s it! I’m all done with the Ultimate Reset program. How do I feel? Pretty darn good and a lot lighter too, and I’m sure my cholesterol has dropped too. We’ll find out on my next lab report. I’m really happy that I did this. I believe that by completing this program I will have picked up some great healthy habits that will help keep me healthier. Including eating more vegan and raw food diet when preparing meals, drinking more water, and going for a brisk walk before heading to bed.

You can definitely notice the difference in my before and after photo. While its most noticeable in my belly area, the weight loss is apparent all over the place. Now I can get back to running and mountain biking to try and lose more weight and fully get rid of that belly! It can be such a challenge get rid of it, but at least now I’ve taken another step in the right direction to improving my health and longevity.
